It may happen that your child will not be joining us at our childcare centre on his or her scheduled day. For this reason we have an extensive exchange service, which you can use to swap a scheduled day. You have no fewer than 365 days to use this exchange day. The condition, however, is that there must be space available in your child’s group. Using our online parent portal or the app, you can easily arrange the exchange days for your child on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

If your child is not coming to our childcare centre on a certain day, you have two options: report your child absent or swap. The reason why your child is absent makes no difference – whether you are on holiday, your child is ill, or if there is another reason.

Swapping points

If your child is reported absent by no later than 8:30 a.m. on the day itself in the parent portal or the app, you will receive swapping points for that day or the relevant half-day. You will then no longer have a day-care spot on the cancelled day (or half-day). This is because the cancelled day (or the cancelled half-day) will then immediately be made available to parents that have submitted a request for that day or that half-day. Using the swapping points, you can submit a request immediately or later for childcare on another day or another half-day.

Direct swap

With a direct swap, you indicate which day or half-day you would like to swap and which day or half-day you would like to request in exchange for that day. The day (or half-day) to be swapped will only be made available to other parents when your swap is approved. If your desired swapping day (or the desired swapping half-day) is not (yet) available, your child will still have a spot on the original day (or the original half-day).

You can also immediately request an additional day (or half-day), in which case you have the choice between using your swapping points or being billed for the additional childcare day.


You can request a swapping day (or half-day) 90 days in advance. Swap requests will be assessed in the order of the date of request.

After the 20th of each month, the swap requests will automatically be assessed for the next month and, if available, will also immediately be confirmed for parents. The system behind the parent portal will automatically assess whether your swap request can be approved in your child’s group or in a second group, if necessary.

If space is available, your child will be placed automatically. If no space is available, your swap request will be given the status ‘waiting list’. If another child is reported absent for this day and your child can be placed in the spot that has become available, you will automatically receive an e-mail notification indicating that your swap request has been approved. Because parents receive swapping points if they report their child absent before 8:30 a.m., swap requests on the waiting list can still be confirmed up until 8:30 a.m. of the requested morning.

There are no limits on requests for swap days.

Additional childcare without points

Don’t have enough swapping points? Or would you rather not be dependent on the availability of a swap day? If so, you can request additional childcare days. You will then be billed for the additional days in the next period. In principle we can schedule additional staff for a requested extra childcare day, unlike with a swap. One condition, however, is that there must be personnel available, and moreover there must be space in your child’s group.

National holidays

National holidays also qualify for swaps. If your scheduled day falls on one of the following holidays in 2018, you will automatically receive swapping points for these days.
