Safe Childcare
At Skar, we attach great value to safety. Each year, we perform a Health and Safety Risk analysis at every branch. With regard to health and hygiene, we adhere to the guidelines of the Municipal Health Service (GGD). The GGD also inspects all Skar branches on a yearly basis. Various domains are examined during those inspections, including pedagogical quality and the knowledge of protocols employed by the organization. The inspection report for your child's care branch can be found online on the homepage of the branch and in the National Childcare and Playgroup Register (Landelijk Register Kinderopvang en Peuterspeelzalen, or LRKP).

Childcare Protocols
Our pedagogical staff members know what to do if something should happen despite all precautions. We regularly perform evacuation drills. There is a trained emergency response officer present at each branch and we have protocols in place to ensure adequate action.

Highly-trained staff
Kinderopvang Skar considers it very important that all of our staff members have the proper theoretical and practical background, and continue to update their knowledge and experience. For example, our pedagogical staff members are trained in “Puk” for toddlers and “Knap Lastig” for Out-of-School Care. This is the only way in which Kinderopvang Skar can ensure that the quality of child care at its branches remains as high as we want it to be. Furthermore, Kinderopvang Skar employs a Quality Assurance Officer to continually monitor the quality and to implement the latest developments in the field of safety and quality, as well as a Pedagogical Advisor who provides support to our staff members with regard to pedagogical matters.
