Why not begin by giving your 2 to 4 year old a playful learning? As a parent or caregiver, you want to ensure that your child can take advantage of what the world has to offer. At Rivers International Preschool, we believe that children develop useful skills through guided play. Skills that lay a lasting foundation for all future learning.

Communication, language, physical development and personal, social and emotional development are just some of the valuable skills we will teach your preschooler. Additionally, through play, we will teach your child the fundamentals of literacy, mathematics, understanding the world and expressive arts and design. A well-rounded and fun first learning experience that will prepare your child for the academic road ahead.

Developing the future

The guiding principles and approaches to learning at Rivers International Preschool are based on the theories of Montessori, Reggio Emilia an Vygotsky. Respect for your child and the importance of play is at the core of everything we do. While they play, children explore, experience and make sense of the world around them. We have designed our learning environment to bring out the best of your child’s nature curiosity and love for learning. Our teachers give your child the freedom to make his or her own choices, to explore their own capabilities and ideas. In this way, your child is supported and guided as they become a confident, self-directed learner.

Bilingual experience

When it comes to our bilingual programme, English and Dutch are integrated seamlessly and naturally in the classroom. Our native speaking teachers understand both English and Dutch, and they can interact with your child in their native language. Through this one-person-one-language approach, your child will learn each language separately.

The classroom

The classroom environment is designed to encourage your child’s natural curiosity and love for learning. Our classroom space fosters movement, choice and focused attention. The materials, toys and furniture we utilise are child sized and made from natural materials and colours.

Securing your child’s future

After you apply on behalf of your child to Preschool, we will invite you for an interview. During this appointment you and our teachers will discuss your child and their development up to now. We will also discuss any future plans you have for your child’s primary schooling. From there we will organise practice days, so that your child has an easy and more comfortable transition to their preschool days with us.
